MOOGGHOST
Hi! If you're here, then we're assuming you might have some interest in commissioning us for art - we tend to do more character focused pieces, leaning towards doing more brightly coloured images. if so, then please take a look through this site so you know the specifics of our commissions.(Warning in advance that some of the example images shown contain eyestrain! We tend to do more eyestrain art when drawing for ourselves and we think it's important to showcase how we do eyestrain for those interested. Apologies in advance!)
While any prices set can be up to change depending on the complexity of the requested piece and how many revisions are requested of us, these are the general prices for any of our commissions. These prices are all listed in USD, as the United States is where we're currently located (unfortunately).
SKETCHES
Simple sketches, with or without the messier base sketch underneath depending on commissioner preference. Please say whether you want a bust, half body, or full body or we will assume you want a full body by default!
- Sketch (bust/half/fullbody/etc), no colouring or shading: ~$10
- Sketch (bust/half/fullbody/etc), one tone colour with shading: ~$12
- Sketch (bust/half/fullbody/etc), full colouring with shading: ~$20
- Sketch page, with no colouring or shading: ~$25. With colour and/or shading is ~$30 as these take us the longest.-----For sketch pages, we try to do 3-5 headshots or half body sketches along with at least one full body when it comes to commissions. If you want to be specific with what the sketches will detail, feel free to let us know! Otherwise we'll do sketches that fall into that range of what sizes we'll draw for these.NOTE: We do not provide progress images on these, as these are the sketches themselves. Only exception is if you commission a sketch page with colouring and shading, as we spend the most time on those.
ICONS
Aka headshots or busts (or anything less than a half body, really-), these are icons done on a 2000 x 2000 px canvas and generally take us the least amount of time outside of sketches.
- Around ~$35. Uses our typical cel shading style by default for simplicity's sake.-----For these, we don't do anything more than a simple or abstract background - or a pride flag, should you provide the one you want us to use. However, we do always give out a transparent version of the icon for your own editing purposes as that's what we typically do with our own personal icons (unless you specifically request that you don't want a transparent version, just let us know).
HALF BODY
Generally anything that's more solidly half of the character.
- Half body with a simple or abstract background: ~$35
- Half body with scene elements: ~$37
- Half body with a full scene background: ~$40-----For us, simpler scene backgrounds are more of things where it's simpler for us to draw like more natural environments, compared to buildings and city landscapes. Generally easier shapes to work with. Things that are more involved take us longer as we want to draw them right and thus are complex.
FULL BODY / FULL SCENES
Anything that shows most of the character's body or is a more scenic piece falls under this, as these take the most time for us to do.
- Full body with a simple or abstract background: ~$43
- Full body with scene elements: ~$45-50, depends on how complex it is
- Full scene (simple or complex): ~$55-----Cannot stress enough for this one to please tell us what kind of background you want if you want anything more than just a single colour or gradient (aka simple) background for these.
IMPORTANT: By default, these prices are assuming you are requesting only one character. Any additional characters will have an additional 25% increase in price.
TERMS OF SERVICE
We have a document specifically for our terms of service, linked here. We recommend reading through it as we go more in-depth with stuff that needs it than we can on a simple Carrd site. However, a general run down is as follows:
Payment before we work on any commission is how we prefer to do things; this is to minimize clients ghosting us after completing their commission. We're willing to sketch a work in progress and then request payment for more expensive commissions, however.
We don't do deadlines on commissions as we're physically disabled and our only other source of income is a job that puts strain on our physical (and mental tbh) health. We try to do them in a timely matter (can take us up to a few days to up to a month and a half depending on offline circumstances and motivation), but we don't do set deadlines because of that.
We take refunds only in specific circumstances; read the doc for specific information regarding that (please read, especially on the section regarding DOs and DON'Ts with Paypal chargebacks).
We can provide works in progress in different stages: Character sketch (+ background sketch if applicable), lineart, flat colours, shading, and any extra effects. The sketch phases are provided by default, but if you want to see how the commission is looking just go ahead and ask (we don't show more than that usually because we know some people would be a bit annoyed to get an update on every part of their commission)!
When we share sketches, that's when you need to tell me about specific things in case of a revision if needed, before we do any lineart. This is especially important if the reference provided isn't entirely clear or difficult to work with for us. Revising the art in its final stage isn't horribly difficult if not just a little tedious due to my drawing process, but if a revision is particularly time consuming (think about ~3-5+ extra hours) then we will charge extra if the drawing is in its final stages.
Communicating with us is vital to making this work! Please give us details on what you want for the commission, give references, give me a description on the background if you're requesting one, etc. We struggle a lot more if we're not given something to work off of when fulfilling someone else's request.
We typically post the commissions we do on our Tumblr and Bluesky, and are likely to use them for our art portfolio! If you want to post the commission on your own socials, just be sure to link back to our own on that platform or to either of those if you're not sharing it on either (we personally prefer Bluesky since it's we're more "professional" on that account than Tumblr of all platforms, but it's up to you).
This goes without saying, but if you use the commissioned art for things like profile pictures for example, just be sure to credit us. Moogghost works as a baseline, but Snuuyfanged works better if you're using it on Tumblr (we switched accounts a bit ago and do not check the old Moogghost Tumblr account any more. Please do not follow or link that account we don't use it any more ðŸ˜).
DO NOT: resell our artwork, remove our watermark from the art, use it for commercial purposes, use it for NFTs, use it for cryptocurrency, or use it for generative AI. You're getting blacklisted from commissioning us if you do any of these.
We're comfortable drawing the following: humans, humanoids, most anthros, most animals/ferals, mild gore, fanart (there's a good chance we might not know the fandom in question though so you might have to provide references or explain things a bit if necessary), and landscape art (depends sometimes but usually yes as we like the practice).
We do not draw these for commissions: heavy/realistic gore, vore, sexually explicit NSFW, fetish content (only like drawing this if it caters to what we're into specifically so if you somehow guess right then it's a Maybe), heavily mechanical stuff, mech characters, highly complex designs (this is more iffy because very detailed and complex designs don't translate the best into our simplified art style and also just take. Forever).
We do have the right to decline a commission for any reason.
As always, though, you're free to ask us about stuff regarding this if you're unsure about something!
CONTACT
For contacting us, we recommend contacting us at any of the following places:
We're also available through Discord if you happen to share a server with us or we talk on Discord - if this is your preferred method of contacting us for commissions but you don't share a server with us or we don't talk there, then we're willing to give you our user if the other options don't work as well for you.
